Specialized SEO

November 29th, 2007 by NoGray SEO

The web is a giant space with millions and millions of pages. Getting notice is almost impossible unless you have a lot of money and time to spend. I have this funny experience with an SEO company a while ago that showed me how competitive search engine marketing is. Here is what happened, I have a client who I want to optimize their site for search engines and I need to run some link building campaigns and keyword analysis. I was short on time so I contacted a “Professional” SEO company to send me a quote.

After a few days I got a response saying that they can’t get the keywords I picked to show in the first three pages for at least a few years with a large budget. What make it worse is they suggested a list of keywords (long and no one uses) and sent a quote based on those keywords. The quote was too high for the keywords they picked and I could achieve the same results with a few links. So, I talked to the client that I’ll start in a few weeks and now their pages show in the first three pages for 90% of the keywords and it only took  less than four months.

Well, I mentioned this story to get into the topic of specialized SEO. There are way too many companies that provide SEO services. Only a few are worthy of working with and know how to optimize your page. But you can also find some firms that optimize website for a certain industry. These firms start just like any other SEO company, but most of their clients are from a certain industry which make them familiar with the requirements to optimize a website for that specific industry. For example, a real estate SEO company will generate better results for real estate agents than a generic SEO company. Also, you might look for a mortgage search engine optimization company that specialize in optimizing financial and related websites.

Now, you might wonder why a specialized SEO company will provide better service than a generic company. Here are a few reasons. The specialized SEO company understand the business trends of the industry they work on and they know what keywords are most relevant to the website they optimize. Also, they tend to work with a network of publishers in the same industry who provide relevant links as well. Beside relevancy, they understand the needs of their client business and know how to drive quality traffic to their website.

Let’s say lawyer SEO company is optimizing a website for a lawyer comparing to a generic SEO company. The generic SEO company will probably start by the most related keywords comes to mind like lawyer, law or legal help. In the other hand, the specialized  SEO company will looking into the type of cases their client takes and optimize based on that. They might use keyword such as domestic abuse, divorce lawyer or business law help.
